#78 Burner
This is what our brewmaster Maximilian Liebhart says about his beer:
Why did you choose this style of beer and what is special about your recipe?
Smoked beer is an integral part of the Franconian brewing tradition with roots in and around Bamberg, which I, as a master brewer, have always admired. There are many different styles within the various smoked beers, from the classic Märzen to smoked wheat or smoked bock. I chose the classic export with a moderate proportion of smoked malt in order to carefully convey the fascination of this very special taste experience to the beer drinker. This gives the entire malt body a wonderful complexity that goes perfectly with the rich, amber color.
How would you describe the taste and how does the name fit?
The taste reminds you of smoked bacon or smoky cheese from the very first sip, and the smell also immediately reflects these impressions. The malt body is clearly in the foreground in this beer. It gives the beer a beautiful, balanced full-bodied taste, which is perfectly rounded off by the use of selected aroma hops. The name "Burner" refers to the production process of the brewing malt, which is permeated with beechwood smoke during the drying process during malting, giving it its characteristic taste and smell.
What occasion is this beer suitable for?
A smoked beer and a hearty Bavarian snack including freshly baked crusty bread - whether at the lake after work, at home on the corner bench or on the mountain top. It stands out from the classic beer experience and allows not only beer lovers from Franconia to be part of a very special moment of enjoyment.
Design:
A dragon that spits smoke instead of fire. Smoke is created by fire, hence the name "Burner". "Hey Tommy, bring us two more Burners!" - we think that sounds extremely cool.
